Archiving Groups
Hide groups you don't need right now, then restore them or delete them permanently
Archiving Groups
Archive a group when you're done with it for now but don't want to lose it. Archived groups are hidden from their space, and you can bring them back at any time with all their tabs, notes, and settings.
Archive a Group
- Click the
⋮button on the group - Click Archive
The group disappears from its space right away.
View Archived Groups
- Click the
⋮More button in the Tabhive header - Click Archived Groups
You'll see every archived group in the workspace, along with its space, how many links it has, and who archived it and when. Click a group to see its links.
Restore a Group
In Archived Groups, click Restore next to the group. It goes back to the top of its original space, with its tabs, notes, color, and reminders intact.
Delete a Group Permanently
In Archived Groups, click Delete, then Confirm delete. This removes the group and all of its tabs for good and can't be undone.
What Happens While a Group Is Archived
- Hidden from its space. The group no longer appears with your other groups.
- Left out of search. Its tabs don't show up in search, AI search, or the command menu, and AI won't save new tabs to it.
- Public link paused. If the group is shared to the internet, its public link stops working until you restore the group.
- Reminders paused. Reminders on the group or its tabs won't fire until you restore it.
- Still counts toward plan limits. Archived groups and their tabs count toward the Free plan's group and tab limits.
Deleting a Space With Archived Groups
Archived groups stay with their original space. If you delete that space, its archived groups are permanently deleted too. The delete confirmation lists any archived groups that will be removed, so you can restore the ones you want to keep first.
Notes
- Only workspace owners and editors can archive, restore, or permanently delete groups. Viewers can see the Archived Groups list.
- Archiving applies to everyone in the workspace. An archived group is hidden for all members.
