Use cases

What you can do with your tabs in AI apps.

Your saved tabs become context your AI app can search and add to. Here's how people use it.

Research

Turn an AI research session into a reading list you keep.

Ask your AI app to find sources on a topic and save the good ones straight into a group. The research stays in Tabhive after the chat ends.

  • Build a reading list on any topic with one request.
  • Add a note as it saves, like why a source matters.
  • Pages you already saved are skipped, so nothing is saved twice.

Developers

Give Claude Code, Codex and Cursor the docs you already trust.

You've already found the right docs, issues and examples. Your coding agent can search them instead of starting from scratch.

  • Point your agent at a group like Backend or a project's docs.
  • Save useful pages from the terminal while you work.
  • Claude Code and Codex connect by signing in. Cursor uses an API key.

Recall

Find that article from three weeks ago by describing it.

Search by topic, by when you saved it, or both. Tabhive matches titles, URLs, notes and page descriptions, so a rough memory is usually enough.

  • "What did I save last week?"
  • "Show me the pricing pages I saved in September."
  • Notes you left on a tab are searchable too.

Teams

Ask your team's shared workspace, not just your own.

In a shared workspace, the links your whole team saved become something your AI app can search. Name the workspace in your request and it looks there.

  • New teammates can ask for a project's sources instead of digging through Slack.
  • Your AI app only sees workspaces you're a member of.
  • Saving to a shared workspace needs Editor or Owner access.

Automations

Send links in from the tools you already use.

The Developer API lets your scripts read your workspaces, spaces and groups, create and rename spaces and groups, and add tabs.

  • Save new items from RSS feeds, Slack or a bookmarklet.
  • Set up a space and groups for every new client or project.
  • Keep a dashboard or another tool in sync with your groups.

Authorization: `Bearer ${TABHIVE_KEY}`,

"Content-Type": "application/json",

},

body: JSON.stringify({ url: item.link }),

});

Things to try once you're connected

Ask in plain language. You never need to name a tool. Your AI app picks the right one.

Meeting prep

“Pull up everything I saved about Acme before my 3pm call.”

Newsletter curation

“List what I saved to my Newsletter group this week, with my notes.”

Competitor tracking

“Show me the competitor pricing pages I saved in September.”

“Save these three hotel pages to my Lisbon group.”

How it works

Connected in about a minute.

Tabhive uses MCP, the open standard AI apps use to connect to other tools.

Three steps

  1. 1

    Add the server

Paste the Tabhive server URL into your AI app's connector or MCP settings.

    https://www.tabhive.app/api/mcp
  2. 2

Sign in to Tabhive when your AI app asks. Apps that can't sign in, like Cursor, use an API key from Settings → API.

  3. 3

    Choose access

Allow searching and saving, or untick "Save new tabs to your groups" so the app can only search.

Step-by-step guide for each app

What your AI app can do

  • Search tabs

By keywords, topic, date saved, or all three

  • Save a tab

To any existing group, with an optional note

  • List groups and spaces

So it knows where things live

  • List workspaces

    Including shared team workspaces

It can't edit or delete tabs, groups or spaces, create groups or spaces, or change your settings.

Privacy and control

You decide what your AI app can do.

No token to copy

Most apps connect by signing in, so there's no secret to keep safe.

Search-only option

Untick saving when you connect and the app can only look things up.

Nothing gets deleted

AI apps can't edit or delete tabs, groups or spaces, or change your settings.

Disconnect any time

Remove an app or revoke a key in Settings. It stops working immediately.

When your AI app searches Tabhive, the results it gets, like tab titles, URLs, notes and group names, are sent to that app and its AI provider so it can answer you. Only connect apps you trust.
